Demolition and recycling work inevitably produces noise, and we are frequently called on to offer expert analysis on how to tackle such noise issues.
One example is the technical advice we have been providing to Anglian Demolition & Asbestos Ltd. Since 2018 the company has been engaged in expanding its facility in Attleborough, Norfolk. We have carried out noise surveys and the assessment of large machinery used in the recycling of construction and demolition waste.
Activities at the site include concrete crushing, shear processing of metals, and copper cable granulation. These processes typically generate significant noise levels, so we worked with the business to ensure that appropriate noise mitigation was in place. This would minimise the potential impact on nearby residents as much as possible.
We continue to provide ongoing advice to the company on their Environment Agency permit application for other activities, including construction waste screening.
