Adrian James Acoustics offers live monitoring and assessment of construction site noise, vibration and dust (NVD). Monitoring is essential for construction activities, which often produce significant NVD emissions and can last for many weeks. This can strain community relations and the Local Authority may deem it a statutory nuisance, leading to possible abatement / Section 60 notices. Therefore monitoring allows emissions to be tracked so that any imposed limits are not exceeded.
Suitable legislation and assessment methods have been developed to ensure that construction emissions are controlled. This ensures that workers and the general public are not exposed to harmful levels, and disturbance is minimal.

What we do
- Monitor and assess noise, vibration and dust from all types of construction.
- Liaise with Local Authorities regarding Section 61 applications and notices.
- Work with contractors, Local Authorities and residents to resolve Section 60 notices.
- Provide comprehensive advice following the guidance in BS 5228 parts 1 and 2.
Live monitoring
- Our Class 1 sound meters continuously sync to the cloud, enabling remote viewing of live and historical data.
- Alarms, alerts, and notifications can be configured for multiple users as emails/SMS, meaning action can be taken should any thresholds be exceeded.
- Reports are generated at a frequency that suits you, meaning that clients, stakeholders, and Local Authorities are consistently kept up to date.
