Acoustic design and testing
Working closely with the fitout contractor, Portview, our role included detailed advice to comply with the employer’s acoustic requirements. This included reviewing wall and ceiling specifications, sound insulation of floors, and acoustic modelling for the food hall. We also undertook extensive acoustic commissioning tests on completion, witnessed by the client’s own acoustics consultant.
Stringent requirements
Our involvement in this substantial project covered a period of almost four years. Sound insulation through the floors needed careful attention to meet stringent requirements. We worked on detailing sound insulating walls in the hotel and concourse areas, and models for acoustic finishes in the ground-floor food hall, using CATT-A modelling software.
