Julez Redding
ACOUSTICS CONSULTANT
Julez took up the drums aged eight and, in their teens, learned how to use a mixing desk. This interest in sound soon became a fixation, as they recorded friends’ bands in bedrooms, garages and parks. They set their sights on the Tonmeister course at the University of Surrey, graduating in 2014.
After graduation, they worked in Soho’s film industry restoring classic movie audio and helping translate major film and TV releases into dozens of languages including French, Bulgarian and Hindi, for worldwide distribution.
Moving to Norwich in 2017, Julez continued editing, mixing, and restoring audio for podcasts and short films, as well as working as a cycle courier for a zero-emissions delivery company, riding the length and breadth of the greater Norwich area as a key worker during the pandemic.
Julez has worked for AJA since 2022, gaining Associate Membership of the Institute of Acoustics, and completing the IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control. As a parent of neurodivergent child, they have a particular interest in designing acoustic environments to be equitable for all users, a focus that started with schools, but has expanded to become an ethos embedded in all of their work.
