Hot on the heels of new team member Chris Burn, we welcome Richard Cully – the latest addition to our AJA team.
Premium hi-fi
Richard has experience working in the world of premium hi-fi equipment. His previous job was as an automative audio engineer for Meridian Audio.
He has a strong technical and creative background and a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics from the University of East Anglia.
His interest in audio and acoustics led to an MSc in Audio & Music Technology at the University of York, where he achieved a Distinction in 2023. He also loves writing music and performing at the piano, drums or bass.
Auralisation
Richie has a particular interest in auralisation, room acoustic measurement, spatial audio, and virtual acoustics. His Masters thesis focused on the design and development of the Virtual Drum Room (VDR), a system that allows drummers to perform in real-time within simulated acoustic environments.
Sailing
In his spare time, Richie enjoys outdoor pursuits including hiking, kayaking, and sailing. He has sailed a range of vessels from dinghies to tall ships, including a crossing of the North Sea to the Netherlands. He is also passionate about motoring and enjoys discovering new places by road.
Skills
We look forward to Richie gaining skills within the company. We are sure he will be an invaluable member of the AJA lineup.
