Adrian James Acoustics is proud to announce the first ever winners of our new scholarship scheme.

Financial support
The AJA Scholarship initiative was launched to encourage excellence and commitment. Promising instrumentalists from across Norfolk can apply for financial support. An advisory panel from Norfolk County Youth Orchestra chooses the award winners alongside Guildhall Young Artists Norwich, which provides coaching from outstanding tutors.
The first four young musicians to be honoured were presented with their awards at a concert in St Peter Mancroft Church, Norwich on 7 April.

Award winner
One of the award winners was 15-year-old percussionist Lewis Meehan.
Lewis said: “I was thrilled to receive the scholarship. As I play drums and percussion, there is quite a lot of expensive equipment to buy, so the award means that I can get some cymbals and new drum heads. I am very grateful for this and I enjoy playing with NCYO”.

Along with Lewis, the other award-winners were Catherine McCardel (violin), Fredi Davies (oboe) and Madison Lambert (viola).
Commitment
This marks the beginning of a three-year commitment by AJA, so there will be further awards handed out in 2023 and 2024.
