For many, Wimbledon epitomises the British summer. The world’s oldest tennis championships have just finished, and once again we are delighted to be working for the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
Outside courts
This time we have been investigating how sound transmits around some of the outside courts. Our brief is to ensure that any changes to the surrounding buildings do not increase noise levels or adversely affect the on-court acoustics.
Acoustic models
Recently, Adrian James and Ben Hunt spent a couple of sunny afternoons measuring impulse responses to create two separate acoustic models of the area.
Results
We are using the calibrated results to generate auralisations. These sound models will demonstrate how various changes to the surrounding buildings would sound on court.
