Adrian James Acoustics can announce we have completed work for East Suffolk Council as technical advisors on a major project. Our expertise was sought to review the noise and vibration assessments for two proposed offshore wind farms – known as East Anglia ONE North and East Anglia TWO. We also advised on associated onshore infrastructure.
Nationally significant
As Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs), consent was sought via Development Consent Orders (DCO) under the Planning Act 2008. Through this process, the draft DCO and other supporting documents were submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for examination and recommendation for determination to the Secretary of State. As the Local Planning Authority, East Suffolk Council are statutory consultees on local planning and environmental protection matters, including noise and vibration.
Environmental Statements
AJA reviewed the Environmental Statements and other technical submissions on noise and vibration. We assisted East Suffolk Council’s officers and legal representatives in technical discussions with the Applicants, external consultants and the Planning Inspectorate Examiners. This included making representations on behalf of East Suffolk Council at meetings and examination hearings.
As of October 2021, the Examination stage of the DCO application process is complete. Recommendations from the Planning Inspectorate and Determination by the Secretary of State are both pending.
