Chris Burn
ASSISTANT ACOUSTICS CONSULTANT
Chris started his musical life at the age of six with the Wenhaston Boys’ Choir and subsequently as a chorister at Ely Cathedral. Whilst studying for a BMus degree, he sang at Canterbury Cathedral. His duties included daily services, broadcasts and recordings. Following a major injury in 2022, he developed an interest in the history and design of pipe organs, and has been playing regularly for various churches.
One of Chris’s great passions is cycling. He is often to be found carrying improbable loads on an ancient clunker or doing slightly silly things on a mountain bike. He has worked as a qualified cycling instructor and ran his own cycle hire and repair business at the University of Kent. He also sails old wooden boats.
After a period of independent study and occasional work assisting with acoustics surveys, Chris was awarded the Institute of Acoustics Diploma in 2023 with full merits. He is an Associate Member of the IoA.
