Julez Redding
ASSISTANT ACOUSTICS CONSULTANT
Julez took up the drums aged eight and in his teens learned how to use a mixing desk. This interest in sound soon became a fixation, as he recorded friends and local bands in bedrooms, garages and parks. He set his sights on the Tonmeister course at the University of Surrey, where he started in 2010.
At university Julez discovered the world of film audio. After graduating he worked in Soho as a Content Mastering Operator restoring classic movie audio. He also helped translate major film and TV releases for worldwide distribution into many languages, including French, Bulgarian and Hindi.
Moving to Norwich in late 2017 to start a family, Julez edited, restored and mixed audio for podcasts, films and video. He also worked as a cycle courier for a zero-emissions delivery company during the pandemic, riding the length and breadth of the greater Norwich area as a key worker.
In the summer of 2022, Julez was excited to follow in the footsteps of previous Tonmeister alumni and join the team at AJA. He recently became an Associate Member of the Institute of Acoustics and looks forward to helping create equitable, sustainable environments for people to live, work and learn.
